Information about the 2010 Children's Law Awards to be announced in November 2009.
In recognition of the work of legal practitioners in advancing the interests of children and young people through the legal process, the NCYLC conducts an award ceremony. The Children's Lawyer Awards acknowledge the work of such practitioners generally, and particular individuals for their commitment. Two national awards are presented, as well as an award in each State and Territory.
2002 marks the fifth time the Awards have been held. Since their inception in 1997, the Awards have served to recognise the legal practitioners who work tirelessly for their clients in the areas of care and protection, criminal and family law, litigation and traffic jurisdictions, as well as providing advocacy for young people in a whole range of administrative and domestic situations. This year, the Awards were open to solicitors and barristers, legal volunteers, legal policy workers and organisations/departments in the representation of children and young people.
